Divisibility Guidelines for 5 and Some Examples

divisibility

In this post we will learn the criteria of divisibility by 5. A number is divisible by 5 when dividing the number by 5 results in a remainder of zero. But how can we know without having to complete the division? Here we show you the easiest way.

Divisibility criteria for 5:

To determine if a number is divisible by 5, that number must end in 0 or 5. If it ends in another number then it is not divisible by five.

For example:

Is 5815 divisible by 5?

We looked at the last number (5815) and it is 5, therefore, 5815 itself is divisible by 5.

Another example:

Is 5688 divisible by 5?

The last number is 8 (5688) and as it is different from 0 or 5, 5688 is not divisible by five.

Isn’t it easy!?
