Smartick: the Answer to Sharpen Math Skills for Children

math skills

Today I would like to introduce you to Karen. She is a South African working mum who has begun to use Smartick with her 8-year-old daughter in the 3rd grade! Karen calls herself a Powerwoman, the kind of woman she wishes and tries to be every day: a go-getter in life, able to juggle work and home with ease, wonderful mother, great wife, activist, and feminist.

Karen has written a very complete review on Smartick, the answer to sharpening math skills for children.

Little Missy is how Karen refers to her daughter… a new beginning as she says about her little one, as she has another daughter who is 23 years old.

Karen loves how technology has changed parenting and education, I imagine this is one of the reasons why she decided to accept reviewing Smartick when we approached her.

She begins her review by describing how Smartick is an online, AI-based adaptive maths program that adapts to each child’s learning pace.

Karen believes that Smartick is a great way to sharpen some of the skills and knowledge that children usually miss during their normal school day. This is thanks to the adaptability of the program, that makes the child progress at his or her own pace, building self-confidence, avoiding frustration, and developing a positive attitude towards math.

“Smartick is a great way to sharpen some of skills and knowledge”

Smartick also allows the child to get engaged and create a study habit. According to this blogger, Smartick would work fantastic for homeschooling.

“I am very impressed with the scope and range of the programme”

In the beginning, there was a little struggle for Little Missy to sharpen her skills with Smartick, and this was understandably frustrating for her. Karen contacted us and our pedagogical team checked her lessons and exercises and figured out that she was working on content above her capacity. Such a situation should not happen to any student in Smartick! We then found out that Little Missy was being helped when doing her exercises. This situation was immediately corrected by forcing a new level test and Little Missy began to enjoy her maths again.

Lastly, Karen tells us how Little Missy enjoys her Virtual World! She loves being able to create her own avatar and world after completing her maths session. This is very important for us in Smartick! We all know that learning is more effective when we enjoy it.
